I’ve noticed that the subject of Intuition is becoming trendy. I’ve seen it used as an excuse for not keeping commitments. I’ve seen workshops, articles, a movie, and books on the subject. I even saw a speaker on an online summit speak on “Foods to Enhance Intuition.” My intuition a year ago to develop a workshop on Trusting Your Inner Guidance was timely.

Terri Tate and I have offered the workshop three times this year, once for a private group, and twice for the Healing Journeys audience. Our recent Trusting Your Inner Guidance workshop in October was again awesome. Here are comments from a few of the participants:

  • This workshop was a good affirmation for me to recognize and practice my intuitive sense. And it introduced me to new tools to use and integrate into my life. Thank you.
  • It was a lovely safe space to share life’s experiences and explore ways to find one’s wisdom without fear.
  • Lively, helpful, integrated workshop! Fun, insightful and loved the team facilitation.
  • This needs to be taught far and wide!!!

I’ve often said that one of the gifts of cancer is that it forces us to trust our intuition. There are no answers out there. The treatment that eliminates cancer for one person may not work at all for someone else. The best diet for one person doesn’t benefit another person. We are each unique and somehow have to discover what is highest and best for us.

In her best-selling book, Radical Remission, Dr. Kelly Turner reports on her extensive research into spontaneous remissions from cancer. One of the nine factors she identified as consistent for all of the survivors she interviewed is: Accessing and strengthening your intuition.

Coincidentally, the strategies for accessing both intuition and healing are similar. They each require us to live with our autonomic nervous system predominantly in the para-sympathetic phase. In other words, to not be worried, anxious, and stressed-out. The more relaxed and confident we are, the more we can be in touch with our intuition, and the more the body can heal. Healing is always an inside job.

We are planning to take this workshop on the road in 2019. We are hoping to offer it in Seattle and at least one other location. If you have a suggestion as to where we should take it, please let me know.

For several years the Tuesday after Thanksgiving has been designated “Giving Tuesday.” It’s the day we are all encouraged to donate to non-profits. We would love for you to consider donating to Healing Journeys. Since we aren’t offering the free conference next year, you may wonder what your donations would be used for.

  • We want to offer scholarships for our workshops. We don’t want to turn anyone away because of lack of funds.
  • Healing Journeys will continue to provide free online resources for those touched by cancer. More and more people are getting their information from the internet. We will continue to expand our YouTube page (and our website) with presentations from conferences. (This month we have posted two more presentations from the September conference.)
  • Sometimes someone who is newly diagnosed, or facing a recurrence or a decision about treatment, needs to talk to someone who has been there. I have been providing that service and am happy to speak on the phone or meet in person. This is another resource that Healing Journeys provides at no charge (and is paid for by donations).

As we approach Thanksgiving, I am feeling grateful for the Healing Journeys community that has gathered over the past 25 years. I am grateful for the amazing last conference that happened in September. Thank you to Donna Apidone for her magnificent job as emcee, allowing me to play a new role and tell my own healing story. (You can watch it here.) Thank YOU for your support of Healing Journeys — past, present, and future. I appreciate you.
