Two of the recommendations that Dr. Nasha made, as mentioned in my last post, require an outlay of money. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy and buying a far infrared sauna. I used my intuition and my pendulum to determine which of these I should address first, and the sauna won.

The price range of far infrared saunas goes from $159 to $5,000. One salesman told me that the only decent ones are made in Finland; everything else is cheap junk from China. So, I did copious research on the qualities that are important in a far infrared sauna. Since I am using the sauna to detox, one of the most important factors is that the sauna doesn’t expose me to more toxins. It needs to be low in EMFs, and have no VOCs. There can’t be any toxic glue used in the construction. And of course, I want something that is of long-lasting good quality.

I finally made the big purchase from a small family company in British Columbia (Canadian made). It met all my requirements for a good product, and I got to talk to the owner and designer of the sauna, and I trust he will be available if I have any problems with it.

It’s been assembled and functioning in my house since June 8th and I love it. I didn’t realize how important the stereo system would be, so that is an added bonus. It works with Bluetooth from my cell phone, so I can listen to my Spotify music while I’m sweating. Music adds so much joy to the experience. Or can make it meditative or inspiring.

The main purpose of the far infrared sauna is to detox. I have been tested high in Lead and Mercury and this is supposed to pull heavy metals out of my system. Given how many toxins are in our food supply, water, and air, I’m guessing there are other toxins that this will eliminate as well.

Yesterday I had appointments with both my integrative MD and my Naturopathic oncologist. Some of their recommendations were polar opposites. One recommends I eat more red meat (grass-fed and grass-finished). The other recommends I don’t eat red meat at all. One recommends saturated fat (coconut oil). The other recommends none. One recommends I take calcium. The other says calcium is damaging to me. Without my pendulum to help me access my own body’s inner knowing, I would be in total confusion. The diet advice they agree on is to eat many vegetables and fruits, salmon, and limit dairy. At least they agree on something.

I have received the 50-page report with the results of my Nutrition Genome test and had that interpreted by my Naturopathic doctor yesterday. Probably the biggest piece of information has to do with the two types of treatment for women with estrogen receptor positive breast cancer. One is Selective Estrogen Receptor Modulators (SERMS) and the other is aromatase inhibitors. The mechanism of how they work is different. According to my SNPS, my body doesn’t respond to aromatase inhibitors. That is what I am currently taking, and my CA27.29 numbers keep climbing. The number is higher now than it has ever been. I have left a message with my MD oncologist who prescribed it to see if we can change to one of the SERMS instead. More on that next time.
