Dear Friends,

At this time of the year, it feels fitting to thank you for your support of Healing Journeys. Thanks to your generosity, the Cancer as a Turning Point, From Surviving to Thriving™ conference has been presented 34 times (29 at no charge since 1996), offering cancer survivors and their families and friends self-help tools, inspiration, and hope.

More than 25,000 people have benefited from our free conference, and we were able to offer it at no charge because of sponsors, donations, and grants. Much of the funding Healing Journeys received from corporations and cancer centers in the past has disappeared. Our funding in 2015 came from you, our donors, supporters, and participants. Out of a $45k budget for our September free conference, $43k came from individual donors; $2,000 came from a corporate sponsor. You made a HUGE difference.

It feels like there is a shift happening, both in terms of funding sources and of programs needed. Much alternative cancer treatment information is available on the internet, and many cancer centers now offer integrative health options.

As those of us living with cancer are growing and evolving, and we are presented with so many options, we need personal conversations to help us identify what is best for our own health. The two workshops that Healing Journeys offered this year (Radical Remission in July and Awakening to a Deeper Relationship with Life in October) seemed to fill a need to focus on our personal healing journeys, and to share valuable information and connection with others on the path.

We are no longer satisfied to just sit and listen; we are ready to participate at a deeper, more personal level. Many of you who attended the workshops said what you appreciated most was the deep sharing with others going through a similar journey.

In 2016, we need your help to be able to offer more of these experiences, and make them available to everyone, even those who are financially challenged. A few people were able to attend the workshops in 2015 on partial scholarships because of your donations. I would like to expand that availability.

In 2016 we want to use our resources to create more experiential workshops and offer them without financial barriers to attendance. We need and appreciate your help.
