The Retreat:
This retreat is designed to explore current issues around compassion fatigue and occupational stress. Self-care activities and self-healing skills will be discussed. Other topics will include developing resiliency, processing grief from your work, bullying in the profession, and what constitutes a healthy work environment. This retreat acknowledges the inherent challenges and rewards of oncology nursing (and all nursing), and our goal is to help nurses identify and apply strategies to restore and fortify the joy of oncology nursing, and contribute to safer, more respectful and healthier workplaces.

Objectives:
After participating in this program, participants will be able to:
- Discuss strategies that create a culture of caring in the workplace, decrease compassion fatigue, burnout and the occurrence of bullying;
- Identify skills and resources that build self-awareness and the ability to cope with stressors associated with oncology nursing;
- Describe behaviors and skills that provide nurses with a foundation for life-long physical, intellectual, and emotional/spiritual health.
