The Healing Journeys Tropical Retreat in Mexico with Jonathan Ellerby was exactly what I needed. There were 24 of us experiencing the wisdom and depth from Jonathan’s teachings, as well as the adventure of being in such a beautiful, warm, and special place. On the last day someone in the group asked me when my medical procedure is scheduled, and I was shocked to remember that I have cancer and will be having a cryoablation on November 16th. I hadn’t thought of it once the entire week.
It was easy to be totally in the present during the week, falling in love with my own essence as well as feeling my connections to the others in the group. Through much sharing, tears, and laughter, we experienced our oneness and discovered that life is “rigged in our favor.” It was one of the most joyful weeks of my life.
I feel the time is ripe for Healing Journeys to offer more experiences like the one we just had, where a deeper transformation can take place. The Cancer as a Turning Point conference, which Healing Journeys has offered the past 18 years, has introduced thousands of people to healing the whole person, addressing body, mind, soul, and spirit.
While we may offer this conference again when funding is available, in 2013 we will be creating more opportunities for you to join us in spiritual retreats and adventures. Many of us are ready to go deeper into the psycho-spiritual dimension of healing and we need a vehicle to take us there. This retreat accomplished that for me.
We will be announcing dates for upcoming retreats with Jonathan Ellerby, PhD, at the TAO Inspired Living Wellness Center on the Riviera Maya of Mexico. In addition, we will be offering retreats with Julie Interrante, MA, author of The Power of a Broken-Open Heart, a facilitator who can translate deep practical and spiritual knowledge in ways that make sense to each person on their own level.
Our popular Cancer-Fighting Kitchen workshop will also be offered again next year; one in Greer, SC, and one in Sacramento, CA. These will be taught by Lise Alschuler, ND, and Laura Pole, culinary translator. They were both well-loved as presenters at our conferences this year.
2013 will be a full and exciting year for Healing Journeys, with opportunities to share the experiences that have been so profound for me on my own healing journey.
It is because of your support that so many people have experienced the benefits of Healing Journeys’ programs. As we transition into offering a wider vision of healing journeys, I hope you will continue your participation and your support.
Your tax-deductible donations will allow us to keep the costs low on the retreats and workshops, to continue sending out a monthly eNewsletter and an annual postal newsletter, to increase the resources on our website, and to be able to plan events for the future.
I feel blessed to be part of such a caring and thriving community.

Jan,
It’s great to hear that the Tropical Riviera Trip was everything you hoped it would be! I’ll be on your list for the next one! And looking forward to helping you with the next phase of Healing Journeys.
Blessings,
Cecile
Jan, I love your idea of spiritual retreats and I’m sure many others share my enthusiasm. I do have concerns about the transition from a free (for attendees) conference to what could be rather expensive get-aways.
I guess you are seeking funding to help make these retreats affordable.
Best of luck with your procedure. I am glad you took good care of yourself last month.
Wendy
Hi, Jan,
These retreats are a great idea. I look forward to attending one. I do have a concern that they will be unaffordable for many people who attend the conference. I guess you are working on making if affordable.
Best of luck with your procedure. I’m glad you are taking good care of yourself.
Wendy

Jan, the new direction toward deep retreat is wonderful. You are such a beautiful example of a life lived in joy. Tomorrow will be part of that. Many blessings, Bonnie
Jan, Thank you for sharing your reflections and so much of yourself with us. I am so grateful I know you and look forward to working and playing with you in the years ahead. My healing thoughts and prayers will be with you tomorrow during your cryoablation treatment. Namaste, Carol Delzer
