I am happy to report that my new oncologist agrees that the tumors I have are so slow-growing that there is no danger in my doing something experimental for 6 months, outside of Western medicine. She even offered to monitor me with monthly blood tests, including tumor markers.
All of my previous doctors have said that they didn’t think there were any reliable tumor markers for breast cancer. My new doc said once breast cancer is metastatic, tumor markers are pretty reliable. I’m thrilled to have an oncologist that clearly keeps up with the research and gives me new information.
After blood tests tomorrow to give us a baseline, I’m excited to start on the “aggressive” program with Dr. Lise Alschuler, ND.
Sounds like you have found the perfect partners, Jan, and it’s about darn time! This is the perfect blend of Eastern and Western expertise.
It is bitter cold again in Minnesota, with a little snow on the near horizon, but the other night I noticed how much longer the light stayed with us. That makes the journey through winter easier with each passing month.
I trust that the light will shine brightly on you as you walk down this road.
Hi Jan– Your courage and honesty inspire me! Thank you for your messages. xxoo Annan
Wonderful!
my naturopath emailed me a note saying with obamacare insurance companies are required to cover naturopaths (i haven’t checked to see if that includes medicare) and someone else says acupuncture is also covered (ditto medicare).
good luck.
Dear Jan,
So happy to hear that your new oncologist is by your side–supporting & walking with you!
Can you share more about Dr. Alschuler’s “aggressive” program?
Thank much! Terri
