Sandra Marinella

After surviving cancer, writing teacher Sandra Marinella formed the “Story You Need to Tell” Project to help others find and write their narratives. Working with cancer patients, veterans, and writers, Marinella was inspired to tell their stories and how they used writing to move forward. She shares these stories and her own cancer story in The Story You Need to Tell—Writing to Heal from Trauma, Illness, or Loss.

Your story matters. This workshop will explore the power of our personal stories and personal writing. In these five sessions we will embark on finding, writing, and sharing our stories while learning writing practices that lead us to personal resilience and renewal—especially helpful now!

We will hone our unique voice, learn how to release and reframe our challenging stories, and explore how to bring positive insights to our work. There will be prompts to inspire your writing as well as opportunities to share your work in an accepting environment. No writing experience is necessary. Join us to write the stories you need to tell. Join us for inspiration, connection, and community. Enrollment is limited.

Materials for the class: Please bring a pen and a journal/notebook/computer to write on. The readings and activities come from The Story You Need to Tell. If you have a copy, please bring it as well.
